I can't even use the app
I don't even know what else to do with this app... I guess I'll never be able to use the daily deals or use mobile ordering since it has NEVER worked on my phone. I have an iPhone 12 Pro that has the latest software update and I have tried over and over again to delete the app and redownload it to no avail. Even before I got the 12 Pro I had the X and for over a year I always got a message when I tried to log in saying "A critical error has occurred, the app needs to be restarted". I tried to sign in to an existing account that I had created a few years ago and I got this message every time, so I tried to sign up for a new account and I still got this message. I contacted McDonald's by phone and someone in McDonald's IT said they would "pass the information on to their developers and hopefully the next update will fix it." Today I tried to re-download the app as it's $1 chips for mobile users and I thought maybe today it will work for me... nope! So now when I download the app it completely crashes and doesn't even load. I missed out on so many deals and am beyond frustrated that I can't even place a mobile order for pick up. I've researched online and other people have had this same problem without solving it. You would think that since McDonald's is one of the largest corporations in the world, they would have worked out all these bugs and issues by now. So disappointed 😡

This App and McDonald's is rubbish
So I had a lovely experience with this app once again, but this one tops it all. I went to McDonald's today. I ordered through the app because of the offers the app has. I went through the process and got to the screen where it says on the sidewalk. I selected number 3 for the third stop. I waited 20 minutes just to go through the driveway to be told there is no record of my order. I showed the rude manager my receipt on my phone app and showed him my bank statement from the exact time I bought food through the app from him. He refused to give me my order because he said if it's not in the system then it never existed. But having as ways to prove that I did prove the opposite. She still wouldn't give me my food. McDonald's I'm not sure how you train your managers but maybe you need to go back and teach everyone not only about customer service but general manners. Also maybe teach them how to use the app because no one in the building out of all your great employees knows how to use it. Lesson I learned today. Your app is rubbish, it fails and when you have 2 forms of proof that I bought food from your establishment, ask your manager to refrain from insulting my intelligence and when I am wrong, apologize and say you made a mistake. All I wanted was food and I know you make me not want to go back to every closing. Thank you.

Good exclusive offers, but payment failures kill it
Overall, I enjoyed the app where I could customize my order specifically how I wanted it and I could clearly see the price increase for each option - who wouldn't want more free pickles or an extra slice of cheese for 30 cents? There are also daily exclusive app deals and coupons like buy one get one that are great and make ordering tempting. However; the problem and an app killer for me is the payment system. The last 3 rides I have ordered and set up for curbside delivery. A few minutes later, the app shows there's been an error and I need to "go in to see the cashier," so in these days of social distancing that means going through the drive-thru. When he stops, they can see the order from him, but they say the payment is still pending. Every time I check the app, it doesn't give me the option to retry the payment or other options. So I tell them at the drive up window to cancel the order and end up walking out with no food. Now I found out that the charge was made later and it still showed up on my credit card statement. So now I've wasted time on trips to the restaurant, no food, and still get charged. Now I have to spend more time on the phone with the credit card disputing the charges. I will no longer use this faulty app. My advice is to save your time and money and shop elsewhere, unless you want to go self-service and pay double the price for the app.
